I watched a REALLY schmaltzy Hallmark sponsored tv movie last night. Why, you ask? There was nothing else on tv (which also means that I was too lazy to turn off the tv), but also because I needed a Hallmark commercial fix. They are just the BEST commercials to watch if you need an instant and easy weepy moment on the couch sandwiched between your eye-rolling husband and sweetly sleeping cats. Here is a favorite and I dare you not to tear up:

Snowflake Kites
This holiday ad from Starbucks is so captivating. Those snowflake kites are cheerful, serene, beautiful....I had to search around and see if they were available to regular joes. Since the answer to questions like this are always on the Internet, I was pretty sure I would be able to find out.

It seems Dean Jordan has been a kite enthusiast since a young age and he is responsible for these wind powered beauties. His company's site is filled with other incredible designs as well, but I remain partial to the snowflakes. There is just something about their delicate intricacy and how they look right at home in the winter sky....it would be pretty amazing to start a collection of these kites to fly during the holiday season.

The boyfriend has been trying for a while to get on Hiving Out. He sends me links, shows me pictures he's stumbled upon, suggests topics (he's really stuck on vintage corduroy for some reason), but to no avail. It seemed as if our taste was just too nuanced and sophisticated for him to achieve this lofty goal. Well, good news! The man has finally gotten it! So, with great pleasure, I'm finally posting one of his recommendations - this cute little commercial. Enjoy it and know that it represents such a proud day in our little household!! :)
