tin ornaments


In Oaxaca, Mexico, "hojalata" is a traditional folk art that goes back to the 16th century where artisans hand cut, punch, press, etch, and paint original pieces of art including Christmas ornaments. And I am such a fan of these decorations. They are so bright and colorful, but I especially love how they look when they start to age and fade (like the one in the bottom picture) - it is so much lovelier somehow...
